Result 1 by activities |

The conflicting parties GOSL and LTTE are integrated in all Project measures:-
• Ongoing consultation and reporting to government and LTTE structures with submission of project information and quarterly reports
• Inclusion of government and LTTE representatives in monitoring and evaluation system
• Establishing of a „Progress Review Committee“ with representatives of District and Divisional Administrations, the LTTE, Wanni based NGO, and selected CBO
• Technical consultation and cooperation with government departments and offices and with LTTE structures and NGO
• Inclusion of representatives of government structures and of the LTTE in training programmes |

The peace and reconciliation process in the project area is supported by specific project measures.
• Training measures for CBO leaders, village representatives and religious leaders in conflict management, conflict solution and co-existence
• Workshops on peace building and the Do No Harm concept for SLF staff and in the villages conducted by the SLF “Department for peace and Co-existence” with the participation of local religious leaders
• Exchange programme between Tamil and Sinhala farmers
• Cultural exchange programme between Sinhala and Tamil people
• Translation, printing and distribution of “Do No Harm“ handbook Sinhala and Tamil
• Support of a follow-upworkshop on “The role of Civil Society in Peace Building and Reconciliation”
• Reach agreement with GOSL and LTTE on objectives of the project |
